Dr. Matthew J. Hall to Preach and Teach at CCWC

On Sunday, April 25, at 5 PM, Dr. Matthew J. Hall will deliver a lecture entitled “Evangelical Identity & Public Witness: The Legacy of Carl F.H. Henry for Today.” Seventeen years after the death of the titanic thinker and public face of Evangelical intellectual engagement, what can we continue to learn from the writing, thinking, and life of Carl F.H. Henry? In a time where the term “evangelical” appears frequently in the news, it is essential to define the term and understand how we as believers can provide a faithful witness to a watching public in the ways we confront the political, social, and intellectual challenges of our day. Dr. Hall will discuss the enduring relevance of Henry’s thinking and the ways we may continue to learn from his steadfast example of faithfulness in public engagement.

Dr. Hall will also be preaching in CCWC’s Sunday morning service.

Dr. Hall serves as Provost, Senior Vice President for Academic Administration, and Associate Professor Of Church History at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. He earned his Ph.D. in History from the University of Kentucky. He also holds a M.Div. and Th.M. from Southern Seminary and a B.A. in Christian Thought from Grove City College. He is married to Jeannie and has three children.
