Christ Church West Chester invites you to join us on Sunday, March 15th as we host Matt Smethurst to preach in the morning and to return in the evening to teach at our Sunday Night Theology.
Matt currently serves as the senior pastor at River City Baptist Church in Richmond, VA. Matt is a gifted pastor and communicator and is the author of Tim Keller on the Christian Life: The Transforming Power of the Gospel (Crossway, 2025), Before You Share Your Faith: Five Ways to Be Evangelism Ready (2022), Deacons: How They Serve and Strengthen the Church (2021), Before You Open Your Bible: Nine Heart Postures for Approaching God’s Word (2019), and 1–2 Thessalonians: A 12-Week Study (2017). Most importantly, Matt is married to his wife Maghan. Together, they have five children.
In the morning, we have the privilege of hearing Matt preach on Judges 19-21 at our Sunday morning gathering, which will take place at 10 AM. In the evening, Matt will return to give his lecture, “Deacons: How They Serve And Strengthen The Church.” His lecture will help us think biblically and practically about the life and ministry of deacons for the building up of the church.
