Joseph’s story at the end of Genesis may be one of the most popular stories in all of Scripture. From movies to shows, the story of Joseph captivates many. Shockingly however, while the foundational book of Genesis devotes many chapters to Joseph, the rest of Scripture rarely mentions his name. What then is the story of Joseph all about? What’s more, how do we understand Joseph’s story in light of Christ?
On Sunday, September 27, 2026 at 5 PM, we have the privilege of welcoming Dr. Samuel Emadi, Senior Pastor of Hunsinger Lane Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. He will give a lecture titled “From Prisoner To Prince: The Story of Joseph in Biblical Theology.” 
Following the lecture, there will be a brief Q&A. This event is free and open to all. Childcare is provided.
Additionally, Dr. Sam Emadi will preach from 1 Samuel 2 during CCWC’s 10 AM service of corporate worship.
Samuel Emadi (PhD, Southern Seminary) is senior pastor of Hunsinger Lane Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky; editor for 9Marks; cohost of the podcast Bible Talk; and author of What Should I Do Now That I’m a Christian?, Who’s in Charge of the Church?, and From Prisoner to Prince: The Joseph Story in Biblical Theology. Most importantly, he is married to Corrie Ann and has four children.
