Harry Fujiwara, pastor at The First Baptist Church in the City of New York, and friend of Christ Church West Chester, will join us on August 31, 2025 to preach on 2 Samuel 9 during our Sunday morning gathering and return to lecture at our evening’s Sunday Night Theology.
Fujiwara’s lecture, entitled, “Preparing The Next Generation” will be focused on the local church’s ministry to youth and children. In Matthew 18:10, Jesus commands his followers to “…not despise one of these little ones.” To obey this command, careful and effective gospel ministry to our young adults and little ones can’t just be limited to games, snacks, and a few good rounds of “Jesus Loves Me.” While there are an abundance of proposed models for children’s and youth ministry, Fujiwara’s lecture will endeavor to lay forth a thoroughly biblical vision for children and youth ministry that is gospel-centered and evangelistic, equips families to teach and minister to their children, and upholds the centrality of the local church.
Harry Fujiwara and his family reside in New York City, where Fujiwara has been the pastor of The First Baptist Church in the City of New York since 2019. Previously, Fujiwara graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied finance. Additionally, he served for 6 years as Associate Pastor at North Shore Baptist Church in Bayside, Queens.
This lecture will take place on Sunday, August 31, at 5 PM, at Christ Church West Chester. The lecture is free and open to the public, and childcare will be provided. For a schedule of future lectures, click here.
