Christ Church West Chester is honored to announce that Dr. Thomas Keene will be joining us this month to both preach at our Sunday morning gathering and teach at Sunday Night Theology on September 28, 2025.
Dr. Keene is a churchman, a scholar, and a friend of Christ Church West Chester. He has served as a pastor at Christ the King (Presbyterian Church in America) in Conshohocken, has lectured at Reformed Theological Seminary, and taught courses at Westminster Theological Seminary. Currently, he serves as both a professor of New Testament and as an academic dean at Reformed Theological Seminary. Previously, Dr. Keene acquired his undergraduate degree from Furman University, and received his MDiv and Ph.D in New Testament at Westminster Theological Seminary, writing on the metaphor of the tabernacle in the Epistle to the Hebrews. He and his wife Sarah have been married since 2002 and have two daughters.
In the morning, Dr. Keene will preach from Revelation 12, and will return in the evening to deliver a lecture entitled: “Figured Out; How Biblical Metaphors Change the Way You See the World” for Sunday Night Theology. In the lecture, Dr. Keene will address the topic of the Scripture’s use of metaphor, and expound on how understanding these metaphors and can richly benefit Christians.
This lecture will take place on Sunday, September 28, at 5 PM, at Christ Church West Chester. His lecture, which will be followed by at time of Q&A, is free and open to the public, and childcare will be provided. For a schedule of future lectures, click here.
